I found out about this because I have this friend in AZ who I’ve told about Improv Everywhere… Her mom picked up the WSJ and showed her the article, and my friend spotted me in the crowd for the photo from the mp3 experiment. Ridiculous. Either way, cool article.
The article criticises Improv Everywhere for “worrying about the end viewer” too much but surely that is crucial for a project like this. After all the fans of the pranks aren’t just those people who were present but also the people in London, Milan, Tel Aviv, Sydney, Rio etc who enjoy the videos and eagerly await more.
Urban Prankster covers pranks, hacks, participatory art, and other creative endeavors that take place in public places in cities across the world. It is edited by Charlie Todd.
