Dozens of ghosts of all ages converge upon Boston’s Columbus Park to dance up a Halloween storm.
Participants were asked to bring a sheet, an mp3 player with a prerecorded song, press play all at once, and dance away! To outside observers, our ghosts were merely dancing in silence, the music only being heard through the earphones of participants.

Street artist Above recently painted a little mural on the wall of a Washington Mutual (soon to be converted to a Chase Bank now that it’s been sold off.) Here’s another recent WaMu prank.
BostonSOS sent word of their latest mission, Celebrity for a Night. The group went out to a posh Boston bar, picked a random stranger, and then had agent after agent approach him thinking he was “David Mansfield” a fictitious celebrity who they claimed was a star on the NBC soap opera Passions. His “fans” bought him free drinks and asked for autographs. Eventually the random dude started playing along and other people in the bar bought into it. Seems like a mash-up of sorts of Improv Everywhere’s Ted’s Birthday and Ben Folds missions.
Banditos Misteriosos sent word that they’re organizing a “Monster Mashup” dance tomorrow in Boston. It looks like a costumed Mp3 Experiment of sorts. They’ll be posting the mp3 and revealing the exact location of the event sometime today on their site. Check it out if you’re in Beantown.
If years of Halloween-themed TV specials and music videos have taught us anything, it’s that come late October, monsters and ghouls love to get together and dance. Thus, it is with pride, that Banditos Misteriosos announces our very own Monster Mash-up!
Consider this a Halloween Dance Party but with all your fellow dancers dressed as ghosts! But, to give this dance another dimension, we will be your choreographers.
For Toronto street artist Posterchild’s latest project, he installed blue wooden boxes around town with a camera inside. He explains:
I made 5 boxes that contained dollar-store disposable cameras and marked them with “Take a Photo, Leave a Photo.” After retrieving the cameras (there were 3 still remaining), I developed the film and then framed and mounted the resulting photographs in the same spots!
The results are really cool!

Here’s a cool video of a simple hack on a traffic light on a bike lane in Berlin. Using tape, a prankster transformed the light into a heart, star, and drop of water.

New York artist Jason Eppink has been getting lots of awesome press for his Take a Seat project lately, including the interview on NY1 above.
He writes:
Take a Seat is an ongoing series of public furniture installations aimed at increasing the availability of seating options in New York City subway stations. Perfectly functional chairs are rescued from trash piles and reassigned to stations where limited seating options leave subway patrons no choice but to stand for extended periods of time.
Take a Seat creates value simply by relocating an object to a new location. Rescued chairs – once liabilities – become assets with little to no effort.
Seating solutions installed for Take a Seat are not affixed to MTA property in any way, opening up opportunities for collaboration with subway patrons who, if they take the initiative, may continue the project by installing the chairs in other locations that could benefit from more seating options.
