Fake Street Signs

Fake street signs have been popping up in Lyon, France. The creators write:

It’s a collaborative project that takes the work of artists from around the world, in the form of fake road signs, and turns the streets of Lyon, France into an enormous gallery without walls.

The round red and white signs look enough like real European traffic signs that you might take them for granted, but weird enough if you notice them to make you stop and think.

  • Lyon! One of my favorite cities due to its character now has even more!
I mean, just look at their inner-city trams and use of greenery on the tracks: http://citytransport.info/Scans/Lyon-tram3a.jpg
This is a city that has a lot of good ideas.

  • When living in San Francisco I used to carry a stencil of a question mark (?) and a can of black spray paint in the trunk of my car. Whenever I saw a sign (and I was able to be discreet, too) that waranted a little ambiguity (Stop?) I would do my civic duty and add a “?”.
