I really don't see why people have such a huge problem with ads! If they aren't killing babies or worse... puppies! Then let them be!

i feel like it'd be more effective in getting the point across if it also included a cursor image hovering over the X.

I like the project. It's like you can advertise your own product on another product for FREE!

Are these stickers for things we don't agree with the advertising?

I just don't buy that stuff and you probably don't either...

"On the Internet, getting rid of unsollicited pop-ups is pretty easy. In real life, things are a tad more complicated.
The Pop_Down Project aims at symbolically restoring everyone's right to non-exposure: Just stick a "Close window" button on any public space pollution.
Pop_Down. It's up to you!"

In real life things are more complicated: you can't close these ads. However, you have the choice to pay for them or not to.

Charlie, I like this post, I should have been more clear, my comment was to the poster above me, with a link complaining about ads in public places -- ignoring the fact that many of the pictures posted showed ads in places supporting services.

Ads on phone booths, and metro stations defrays the costs of these things and makes them possible, the same for commercials on broadcast tv.

To complain about them and 'protest' them is silly, unless you are willing to pay much higher costs for the things they are related to.
