For what it&#039;s worth, all of the street hucksters are invisible to me, especially the current plague of environmental ones. That&#039;s not because I have anything against them personally, but because they all use normal human social conventions (e.g., eye contact, mutual respect, reciprocity) to manipulate people into giving up money.

I know they all think they&#039;re doing the manipulating for a good reason. For the ones I agree with, I make them (or organizations that help them) part of my yearly donations. But I don&#039;t want any of them badgering me on the street, so I never give money in person.</description>
