Bay Area artist Jeremy Novy has a cool project where he places stencils of payphones in now vacant phone booths. Might as well put something there!
In a similar series, he renovates boarded up buildings by adding pretty windows. Check out his renovation of the State Street Theatre in Milwaukee.
Some urban pranksters out in San Francisco recently installed swings on a few BART train cars. The resulting photos are awesome.

The Wall Street Journal put together this profile of SFZero.
SFZero is a Collaborative Production Game. Players build characters by completing tasks for their groups and increasing their Score. The goals of play include meeting new people, exploring the city, and participating in non-consumer leisure activities.
Cool project and a nice video, but we’re not sure why the WSJ scored the video with such annoying music.
The date of Improv Everywhere’s annual Mp3 Experiment has been announced. New York City will be hosting its fifth annual event and the fun is touring this year to Chicago and San Francisco. For now only the dates have been released, but more information will be released the week of September 15.

Last week we posted a notice about a water balloon fight in San Francisco. Geek Entertainment TV has a video shot on location, above. Looks like it was lots of fun, despite a relatively small turnout.
Someone from the San Francisco chapter of The Cacophony Society tipped us off about this event, happening Sunday. We don’t know anything about it other than what can be deciphered from the flyer above. Looks like fun!
